How could someone you've never met have such influence in a persons life? It's the magic of lyrics and music, and only the most gifted are allowed to reach us so deeply. So goes it with The Music Of John Denver. To me and countless others, he was able to reach a place that stirred joy and love for nature and music. Beautiful melodies combined with lyrical content not meant for "average" radio or casual listeners of the time. No, these were deep emotion inducing songs, spoken with such elegance and the beauty that found the nature lover in all of us. This was from the time when an album was a journey from beginning to end, and it was to be on that journey when we were able to take flight with the author as our pilot. His songs spoke of rivers and mountains, of eagles soaring and sunshine bathing us, of love and lost, of home and homesick. Yes, his music said what we felt, even if we weren't aware.
